Alan has a PhD and bachelor’s degree, both in engineering, from the University of Sydney, Australia. He has been a Scientist in the Binaural Hearing & Speech Lab at the Waisman Center since 2015. Prior to this, he was a Research Associate in the same lab, and a lecturer in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at UW-Madison. He has also worked as a consultant and project manager for two audio startups.
Beyond his position at the university, he is a member of the Acoustical Society of America – Psychological and Physiological Acoustics Technical Committee, and an editorial board member for the Journal of Speech, Language and Hearing Research.
